[mythtv-users] TVOut blank with nvidia-graphics8774-kmdl-2.6.17-1.2187_FC5-1.0_8774-75.fc5.at

The trick I found with my Nvidia drivers was that I needed both Devices to
have "connectedmonitor" showing both CRT and TV. Anyway, this worked for
me- if you want GL and XvMC to work you will need to swap the Monitor line
in the Screen-Screen0 stanza to read "TV (1)". I am running dual display
from the one card, if you are only running one, you'll need to make the
necessary changes.

The effort to get TV-OUT working within Linux (in fact the effort to do
*any* sort of display adjustment and tweaking) really makes me laugh when
I see articles on "Linux 3D desktop challenges Windows Vista". What takes
5 minutes in the Windows world takes 2 days in the Linux world. Just an
observation on effort applied to the wrong place. Sort of like painting
the house when the foundations are crumbling. Don't get me wrong, I love
Linux but X11 display tuning is a complete disaster area.

Cheers,

Indulis
