Greg,

You seem to be running into the same issue that I'm having with the
hdhomerun. I also get an immediate segfault when mythbackend attempts a
qam256 record from the device. I filed a ticket:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/2541

8vsb recording is working fine for me. It seems for some folks qam256
recording is working fine with the hdhomerun, so hopefully it is
something the devs or jafa (Nick, the lead developer at Silicon Dust who
reads this list) can shed some light on to what is different about our
setups.

Regarding your channels being enumerated with the 123#2 scheme and no
channel names or other info, once this issue is sorted out you will have
to edit them using the live tv editor:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Frontend_Channel_Editor

I had to do that as well when setting up a qam256 source for my
Avermedia A180.
