[mythtv-users] Transcoding firewire breaks audio

I'm running a Firewire/PVR150 system recently upgraded to 0.20 . Most
of my recordings are firewire - mpegts/ac5 (2 channel)/

Transcoding these files results in about 80% of them having broken
audio. Audio runs for about 10 seconds and is replaced with clicks
and pops and WriteAudio: buffer underun in the log. Externally, VLC
works but also reports audio packets lost.

Transcoding with mencoder and -oac copy keeps the audio in ac5 and
audio is fine. In fact, a 10gig HD recording shrinks to 1.8 gig with
little loss of quality. But using mencoder seems to break the
seek/bookmark feature in mythtv player.

I know the developers have talked about a "copy audio" feature in
mythtranscode rather than transcoding ac5 to mp3.

Anyone else having this problem transcoding mpegts/ac5 to mpeg4/mp3 ?

Jerry
