To fix the hue, you can:
a) disable the frontend setting:
Use Xv picture controls
If enabled, Xv picture controls (brightness, contrast, etc.) are used
during playback. These are independent of the Video4Linux controls used
for recording. The Xv controls may not work properly on some systems.
(Note, also, the last sentance of that help text...)
b) search the lists for "ATI hue" (no quotes) and find out if Daniel put
the appropriate fix for your video driver in the version you're using.
If not, upgrade (if it's in a later version) or provide the information
he needs (as discussed in the huge thread you see as the first 20
results when you search for "ATI hue"). (I think Daniel currently only
has fixes for the ATI proprietary drivers in, so you may be able to
provide information he needs to make the Xv picture controls work for
the open source drivers.)
