Well I took out the script yesterday, and this moring my BE had no
/etc/dvb/adapter1.. re-ran the script manually and it came up.  If you start
to see your adapter dissappear on a regular basis you may want to try adding
them lines in (make sure the backend is only started AFTER them lines have
run)
