I use the same lines in my limits.conf and MythTV tells me that it's
running real-time.  (Well, actually, it doesn't tell me that running as
real-time requires SUID privileges, which is pretty much the same).

The only thing I can think of is what are the username and group you're
running the mythfrontend as?  In order to get it to work (with your
configuration), the group must be mythtv.
