I doubt that it would work very well on the PS3. Although there is a
Linux release for the PS3 from Terrasoft (The Yellow Dog folks) it
does not support any sort of video acceleration, it just treats the
video hardware as a dumb frame buffer.
This has caused a lot of lamentation on the YDL list, and the
situation may change in time, but I wouldn't count on it any time
soon as the video is under control of the HyperVisor so even a
solution similar to the present nVidia binary blobs is unlikely.
I would expect it to happen shortly after nVidia releases the source
code for it's present video drivers, otherwise known as a cold day
in ... :-)
