I've found JRemoteforMyth to be okay.

Any learning remote can be trained off of an IR keyboard. Anything
that can send an IR signal can be read by lirc.
Here's a remote app for Palm -

When I have time, I'd like to work on two different solutions for
alternate mythtv remote control:
1) simple script that redirects keypresses to mythfrontend from remote
system using telnet interface - I want this for my laptop so I can
commercial cut shows using my laptop keyboard
2) simple crossplatform GUI that looks like a popular DVR remote and
sends mythtv telnet interface commands for button clicks - There's no
rocket science here - it's 90% GUI design and then just programming
the buttongs. Since config option for mythtv IP address.
