changing the default skip forward sounds like an excellent idea. How /
where do I change it?

I've added an new task to my todo namely, add a variable skip forward
/ back based on which number is pressed on the remote. that should
allow 0.5, 1, 4, 4.5 or 5 min skips for example.
An even better idea would be a script which skipped an amount based on
the channel being played back, but thats probably another pipe dream.
