I have hundreds of channels. So even if we're talking 25 tuners to  
grab the "good" channels, that's a lot of money on tuners and hard  
drives.
Most people turn to using a STB to get ALL the content their provider  
delivers, so we're talking 25 STB's as well.
It would be a nightmare to find anything in the list of stuff that's  
been recorded that you actually want to record.
It would defeat the entire MythTV idea of recording only what you  
want and watching it when you want to filter out all the bad shows  
(and commercials).

I guess Tech schools don't teach practical applications. ;)
