I have a few more details by turning "-v all" on for the backend. I now get
the following additional information in the log file:

2006-11-21 10:00:05.564 Using profile 'Low Quality' to record
2006-11-21 10:00:05.608 RecBase(2): SetRingBuffer(0x82c0700)
'/video/library/2638_20061121100000.mpg'
2006-11-21 10:00:05.742 RecBase(2): SetRecording(0x832e5e0) title(Sesame
Street)
2006-11-21 10:00:05.901 MSqlQuery: SELECT channel.videofilters FROM channel
WHERE channum  = '43' AND       sourceid = 2
2006-11-21 10:00:06.124 HDHRRec(2): StartRecording -- begin
2006-11-21 10:00:06.185 HDHRRec(2): Open()
2006-11-21 10:00:06.187 HDHRRec(2): StartData()
2006-11-21 10:00:06.189 TVRec(2): SetFlags(RecorderRunning,RingBufferReady,)
->
RunMainLoop,AskAllowRecording,NeedToStartRecorder,RecorderRunning,RingBufferReady,
2006-11-21 10:00:06.194 TVRec(2): ClearFlags(NeedToStartRecorder,) ->
RunMainLoop,AskAllowRecording,RecorderRunning,RingBufferReady,

Any ideas? Unfortunately, to me this seems pretty thin with diagnostic
information. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
