[mythtv-users] DVB-T UK PAL Commercial Detection

Commercial flagging generally works very well, if not perfectly - on
UK channels which remove their logo for ad breaks. Sadly not many on
UK TV actually do that. Sky One does, and my recordings of shows from
there skip pretty much perfectly (I know it's not a dvb-t channel).

As for other methods (such as blank frame detection) - I've had a good
hard look at ad break transitions & they all tend to be wipes,
dissolves or hard cuts so things like blank frame detection don't
stand a cat in hell's chance of working.

I can't speak for the new 'experimental' flagging methods though -
some success might be possible using scene change detection coupled
with audio level detection (who knows?). I don't record that much
from commercial channels anyway, and it's no big deal to press 4 then
right arrow ;)
