[mythtv-users] Zap2it loses digital channels from profile

I haven't seen this discussed here - closest was the thread a couple of
months ago avout Zap2It screwing a proverbial pooch. There is a thread
over at Zap2it's forum, which I didn't see because I don't hang out over
there. So a warning and pointer for those like me:

Zap2It has lost digital channels for a lot of San Francisco Bay area
users - the channels aren't just unchecked, but they have been lost
entirely from the profile.

The first symptom for me was that shows didn't record - I don't look at
the schedule info in Myth now that my recurring recordings are set up.
I do watch the Listings Status to see whether guide data is still coming
in, and all indications were that things had been working fine for
months. This was neither a subscription expiration nor problem with
mythfilldatabase.

Anyway, shows didn't record. Looking at the schedule info, it became
obvious that there is no info for any of my digital stations.

Going to Zap2It and looking at my profiles, the list of channels was
really really short - no digital station showed up in the list, checked
or unchecked.

To fix, I deleted and recreated the profile for the same zip code, so
all the stations in my area were listed again, then checked the stations
I cared about.

Here is the thread at Zap2It: http://bb.labs.zap2it.com/viewtopic.php?t=1052

Here is a page on my wiki with a couple of screenshots to help clarify
any amiguity in the description above:

Stepping back slightly, a useful MythTV feature might be for
mythfilldatabase to flag differences between channels for which data are
received and channels in the Myth configuration. Perhaps show that in
the Listing Status display. Just thinking out loud.

Anyway, hope the warning helps someone.
