FFMpeg has always been said to be faster than Transcode when using
nuvexport, and for ages I'd get up to double the speed using FFMpeg than
Transcode. Lately though it's actually slower than Transcode, so there's
something going on there, dunno what it is though...
Athlon XP 2500+
1.5 GB RAM
@ stock speed i used to get around 7 or 8 fps with Transcode, and 12 -
14 with FFMpeg. Now @ 2.1ish GHz (2800+ speeds) and getting around 11 -
12 fps with Transcode and about 7 or 8 with FFMpeg. That's with all the
eye candy on (noise reduction, deint...).
You could try using just single pass, and no noise reduction, which
won't lose you too much quality and should speed things up considerably.

and you might wanna take into account that the multi-nodenoise pic
actually has a closer colour match to the original mpg than the
multi-denoise one.
