[mythtv-users] Help with Digital Sound passthrough Realtek ALC882 (HDA-Intel) with FC5_64

I've been trying for about 3 weeks to get the passthrough working with my realtek ALC882M chip on my Asus p5wd2e-premium board. I can get non-passthrough fine over my coax digital input, but any attempt to use passthrough results in the infamous chopper blades sound. I'm running Fedora Core 5 64 on a Dual core intel 830

When i try to set passthrough in xine, it gives me an error of device already in use. Not really sure where to go from here.

Does anyone have a working .asoundrc file for this and also know the correct settings in myth's frontend?
I've tried about every .asoundrc file I can find and every setting in myth that will work.

using this for the passthrough device in myth does not work as some other threads have suggested and results in the chopper blades: iec958:AES0=0x6,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2
ALSA:iec958:CARD=0,AES0=0x6,AES1=0x82,AES2=0x0,AES3=0x2 (did not work at all)
