Having just installed one after reading about it on the list in
preparation for moving to digital sound in the future, I can verify
this. In fact, I deleted (through renaming) the /etc/asound.conf I had
been using for the onboard Intel HDA. (Not that the old asound.conf
caused any harm as far as I could tell, but I figure that if I can get
by without it that's preferable.)
