[mythtv-users] Can't seek in recorded files

This must be a noob question, but I didn't see anything
in the FAQ that helped...

If I'm watching live TV, I can use the left and right arrows
or the page up/page down keys to skip through the show.

If I go to "Watch Recordings", select the LiveTV
group, and watch a previously viewed show, these
buttons also act as expected.

However, if I go to "Watch Recordings", select Default,
and select a previously recorded movie, pressing any
of the skip keys momentarily brings up the (for example)
"Skip Ahead" box, but then immediately drops out to
the "Select a recording to watch" dialog.

What's wrong?

I notice the same behavior in both version 0.20 and
also svn version 11716.

All shows were ATSC from a PC-HDTV card.
