I think that's what I said, or at least tried to say :-)

Each slot is a separate logical device, not a separate LUN of the  
same device, so they are assigned a separate scsi ID.

The only multiple-LUN devices I've run across are things like tape  
changers, never seen a card reader that does that, which is not to  
say that there might not be such a beast.
