[mythtv-users] Intel Mac mini and digital audio

Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a mac mini to run Fedora as a frontend for my
0.20 backend.  The only thing I'm worried about is the audio.  The mac
mini has an optical output for audio, does anyone know if this will work
in linux?

At the moment my frotend/backend uses a SB Live value with a digital
output which is the same size as the mac mini's.  I use a mono 3.5mm to
RCA cable to plug into the digital coax input on my amp.  Using alsa, I
can get analogue and digital (dolby digital and DTS) audio out and I want
to be able to do the same thing with the mac mini.

Is this possible?
