[mythtv-users] Hauppauge MCE remote problems

I don't know if you read my previous suggestion, but anything that is
recognized by irw should work in myth as long as your lircrc file is
configured properly. Instead of relying on others' config files, you
should try editing what you already have to make it work. All you need
to do is make sure the button names match on both the lircd.conf and the
lircrc file. Since you're saying that irw recognizes all the buttons,
you're already halfway there. All you need now is the lircrc to be
configured for mythtv. As for the shortcuts, you may want to assign
that from within Mythfrontend (setup/key bindings) first.

Let's say for example you assign the F5 key to be a shortcut (jump
point) to "Watch Recordings".

Then, just edit your /home/mythtv/lircrc file to say:

begin

prog = mythtv

button = RecTV

repeat = 3

config = F5

end

That should work. If you have done these steps and it still doesn't
work, then you are probably running a different lircrc than what you
just edited. If you are user mythtv, and run mythfrontend while you are
logged in as user mythtv, then it should work. If you run mythfrontend
as root, you will probably want to edit /root/.mythtv/lircrc or if you
run mythfrontend as part of a startup script, you may find that there is
a /.mythtv/lircrc at the very root of the file structure.

	I use the lirc_mceusb2 mod from KnoppMyth and my
~/.mythtv/lircrc can be found here: http://mythtv.mrjpiggott.net/lircrc

	You'll probably want to use irw and edit the file to setup PiP
buttons as I only have a single tuner.

Many of the buttons are not assingned in that lirc either. The ones
that could make nice shortcuts include:

TV
Music
Pictures
Videos
Guide
RecTv
LiveTv

irw does find all the buttons, but myth does not use them AFAI can tell.
And edit buttons does not work for me I think.
