[mythtv-users] Backend quits functioning

Hi all,
First, thanks Gavin for the script idea. I may have to try that.
I wonder if anyone else see this problem?
1) Backend is running and recording say 2 hour-long programs at 8PM
2) Two people are watching two separate prerecorded programs on
frontend only machines.
3) Two programs are queued to record at 9PM
9PM comes:
a) The 9PM recordings appear to start, looking at disk access, but
don't actually record
b) mythcommflag starts on the two 8PM shows
c) Both people watching the precorded shows lose connection with the
backend and cannot access any programs even if they quit and restart
the remote frontends
d) mythfrontend cannot connect to the backend server even on the backend machine
I restart the backend. The 9PM recordings start but miss the front
portion and have to be deleted.
Anyone else have this sort of problem? No messages in the log files.
Everything about the backend seems to go away, except there is disk
access consistent with recording the programs.
