At least for me, mplayer defaults to using libmpeg2 for decoding MPEG2
streams, and this regularly fails with streams captured from DVB (can't
recall how yours are captured). MythTV defaults to using ffmpeg, which
is more reliable in this sense. Try mplayer -vfm ffmpeg on those files,
or whatever is the kmplayer equivalent.
