[mythtv-users] mini-itx core-duo frontend for HD content

If you don't mind running a Micro ATX board instead of a mini-ITX board, the
MSI K8NGM2-FID is an** Athlon 64 socket 939 board with a built-in NVIDIA
Geforce 6150 with VGA, DVI, S-video, and Component outputs, plus a SPDIF out
connector on the motherboard:

With an A643000+ Venice chip (which is more than capable enough to play
1080i), it's under $200, and all you need is memory and a case, and a SPDIF
connector...
I have not personally used a Geforce 6150 board, although I've heard that
the Linux drivers are finally working OK for the graphics and the chipset
(although I haven't heard specificly about 1080i component output). I'm
currently running an older, slower AGP socket 754 board with the K8M800 Via
chipset, a Newcastle A643000+, and a Geforce FX5200 card as a combined
backend/frontend, and I can watch 1080i recordings deinterlaced to 1600x1200
with no problems and CPU at ~75% without XVMC, and at ~55% with XVMC.
If you can use VGA or don't mind using an outboard VGA to component
convertor, there are tons of Micro-ATX socket 754 boards to choose from, and
almost any socket 754 Sempron processor should be able to decode 1080i
HDTV...
I also have a Commell LV-667T with component out which did work in the one
1080i XVMC Xine playback test I did with EPIOS, but I haven't had time to
get it running with MythTV yet.
