Thanks for your input, good ideas, and suggestions.

First to clarify about using both PVR-250 inputs at the same time,
I'm only trying to use one at a time.  But thanks for mentioning it.

About the backend log, I have been looking at it - I can't make
any sense out of it.  But, I didn't turn on verbose logging, so
I will make that change to see if I can get more information about
what's happening.

I have also been monitoring the cardinput, capturecard, and channel
tables.  Except for the test where I defined the sole input, Composite1,
the channel table looks all wrong to me.  It doesn't correspond at all
with the channel table on the other MythTV system running 0.18.
(The other MythTV system (0.18), works just fine: 'c' changes back
and forth between the Tuner and Composite inputs, and using manual
scheduling, recording from the Composite input works, too.)
