One question I always had was, what does a dedicated RAID box draw for
power in comparison and does it make sense to purchase one instead of
building a whole computer instead?
One of the nice things is they usually hold 8+ drives (as opposed to
the 6/8 I've seen in some of the cheaper rack mount cases), but a
dedicated computer can be used for spare processing, like commercial
flagging....
