So happy to have someone respond to my thread, THANK YOU!
Much has happened since I last posted. First off, I was modding the wrong file. It should have been the XF86Config-4 and NOT XF86Config file. When I got that corrected, 1024 x 728 would show up as default in the log. Notice I say "in the log" and not on the screen as I'm still getting a blank screen. :-(
As of this AM, I got a call from Audio Authority tech support who helped shed some light on the issue.
1. Yes, I am able to get 1024 x 768 when connecting to the RBG port. No problem. BTW, EDID does work in this case as there is no transcoder (A960) that sits between my Mythbox and my Proview RX-326.
2. No, on assuming that if the modeline works on RGB it should work when using the A960 for my component connection. Why? Because 1024 x 768 may not be a native resolution that the COMPONENT connection on the TV supports. Eh?!?!? Well, it kinda makes sense to me. I'm not sure what 1024 x 768 "translates" to, but I now need to shoot for HTDV support resolutions of 480i, 720p, or 1080i. Like I said, I suppose that makes sense ;-)
Question is, what do I do next? There is a 720p modeline floating around the net, as a test, should I wipeout all modelines except for the 720p line?
Thanks again.
