Hi all. I'm a complete Myth noob, but fairly familiar with Linux. I've
mainly been doing text mode stuff , firewalls, snort, video
surveillance, so I'm an X-windows noob as well.
I'm planning to use Myth on Fedora Core 5, but I'm struggling with the
Nvidia drivers. Following the how-to on wilsonet.com (Fedora Core 4)
I've tried the 2 versions of Nvidia drivers found at atrpms.repo
(8178 and 8756) but both versions hang part way through starting X.
Video card is an Evga GeForce 6200 256mb, Kernel is 2.6.16-1.2111_FC5
I have read through the list archives, but feel free to flame me if I
missed something obvious in there :)
Anyone else using FC5 and Nvidia? What driver did you use? Did you need
to do anything with the kernel?
A fairly Linux literate friend of mine went with Sage, so I really need
to get Myth going to I can rub his nose in it. :)
I don't *have* to stay with FC5, though I do prefer to. Centos would be
my second choice if switching distros.
Thanks,
Steve
