I grokked this distinction late this AM. I recall running a non
XVMC test this morning and getting similar results, but can't
quote specifics with certainty. Doesn't MythTV fall back to
alternate mpeg2 decoders if XvMC isn't available?
Also, CPU usage for X was still very high (~50%), as opposed
to what I would (naively?) expect - high mythfrontend CPU usage
if the mpeg2 decoding was the problem.
Any other likely culprits to check? I have some log files but
can't run another actal test until after work tonight.
