You should have a splitter in your PVR-350 package that plugs into the video 
out plug on the PVR-350 card, and gives you composite/left/right/S-video 
cabnles.

> How about the other provided cable, 9-ping to s-video, composite and L/R sound. Can I use this adaptercable to connect to an appropriate scart cable to get s-video (connecting s-video and L/R), or will my television still report it receives composite ?

Well, that's what you should be using.
