Thanks for following up, Greg.  I may start a "known bad" 5200 page on the 
wiki.  Can you send a link to the exact product you have?  Thanks!

To everyone else, I posted a while back about a "known good" list of 5200 cards 
that properly scale 1080i down to lower resolutions using the XV video overlay. 
  Can anyone confirm their 5200 works properly to scale all 1080i they've 
watched down to 800x600?
