[mythtv-users] internal dvd player?

I see talk of the internal dvd player a lot.  When I compile mythtv 0.19-fixes 
branch, I leave native dvd playing enabled, and configure outputs this:
DVD playback     yes

Yet when I play back dvds from the "Optical Disks" menu, it still uses mplayer 
to do so.

Am I missing something?  Is there supposed to be an internal-to-mythfrontend 
dvd player?
