I finally can receive video from my cable box using test-mpeg and I ran
mythtv-setup and setup everything correctly I believe:

Card Type: FireWire cable box
Cable box model: SA3250HD
Connection Type: Point to Point
IEEE-1394 Port: 0
Node: 0
Speed: 400 Mbps
Default Input: Mpeg2ts

I found the port and node from plugreport

 Host Adapter 0
=======

Node 0 GUID 0x00169205a0d00000
------------------------------
oMPR n_plugs=1, data_rate=2, bcast_channelc
oPCR[0] online=1, bcast_connection=0, n_p2p_connections=1
        channel=0, data_rate=2, overhead_id=0, payload6
iMPR n_plugs=0, data_rate=2

Node 1 GUID 0x00004c0100004195
------------------------------
libiec61883 error: error reading oMPR
libiec61883 error: error reading iMPR

But when I go to watch live television now it is going to a black screen for
15 seconds then coming back to the main myth menu.

2006-05-11 01:46:28.158 TVRec(4): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
libiec61883 warning: Overlayed connection on channel 0.
You may need to manually set the channel on the receiving node.
2006-05-11 01:46:28.257 FireRec: Buffered packets 2350 (9400 KB)
2006-05-11 01:46:34.846 TVRec(4): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None
2006-05-11 01:46:43.274 FireRec: No Input in 15 seconds [P:0 N:0] (select)
2006-05-11 01:46:43.290 Finished recording Charter Channel: channel 1001

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help

Allan
