The place to research these kind of questions is 
http://www.avsforum.com however the story seems to be that 
manufacturers are currently ramping up to produce 1920x1080 panels. 
Right now they're only available on top-of-the-line sets but in due 
course they'll filter down to the bargain plasmas... if there is such a 
thing.

BTW, last summer I was at the Sony building in Tokyo where they were 
showing a trio of 1920x1080 Qualia displays. Wow, full HD is pretty 
impressive.
