[mythtv-users] pcHDTV 3000 problems with trunk (svn 9856)

I'm trying to test the latest trunk version to verify a bug before reporting
it.

I've been running svn 9244 for a few weeks now with pretty good results with a
pcHDTV 3000 tuning SD QAM channels and analog NTSC channels from Comcast (in
San Francisco).

After upgrading to 9856 I'm having lots of problems. The QAM channels
completely stopped working -- the backend actually exits without leaving any
log messages behind.

I thought the problem might be the migrated configuration so I'm trying to set
up from scratch (I have a backup, I just want to make sure setting up from
scratch works). I reenabled channels.conf import in the source (it's my only
option due to Comcast brokenness), but now another problem is that "Fetch
channels from source" in Mythtv-setup is behaving bizarrely. Instead of
populating the database with channels as it did before, it modifies my Zap2It
subscription to enable all channels in the lineup (!!!!) and then no channels
get added to the DB (the Start Channel field still says "please add channels
to this source"). mythtv-setup's output while fetching channels looks like
this:

Grabbing lineup CA04487:L for modification
Selecting all channels in lineup CA04487:L
Saving lineup CA04487:L with 338 channels
Grabbing channel data
[...]
Saving updated DataDirect listing
Saving lineup CA04487:L with 0 channels

What's changed with the grabber recently? "select count(*) from channel"
shows 0 rows. In order for channels.conf import to work I need the grabber
to set up the channels first as I understand it.

I tried setting up the card from scratch as an analog V4L card and it seems to
work fine (actually myth's scan noticed only channels 2-13,nothing higher,
and I still can't get the grabber to work but the channels found by the scan
worked fine).

Hardware is a Pentium D 820, Intel 945 chipset, and an NVidia 6600 video card
(as well as the pcHDTV 3000, of course). OS is Debian unstable, AMD64 arch,
everything compiled with GCC 3.4.

Any suggestions? Anyone else seen these problems? Anybody successfully using
the ATSC side of an HD-3000 with a recent svn trunk build?

Thanks,

Steve
