Included in the xosd library distribution should be some binaries,
specifically osd_cat.

There are system specific packages too. Ie, the debian info is here:
http://packages.debian.org/stable/x11/xosd-bin

While xosd supports displaying info on-screen, it's not within the myth
framework and thus doesn't use myth's themes. 

I'd love to see more hooks to myth's osd support, and a more extensive
osd all-around. Ie, an ability to display messages at any time, and to
require the messages to be acknowledged by the user. A sample use case:
voice mail notification. Does anyone share similar desires? Is it worth
me putting this to the devs, and trying to develop this myself?
