Have you tried chage? Use chage -l to list the date your account
expires. Use chage -E 1/1/9999 to set you account to never expire.

# chage -l mythtv
Minimum:        0
Maximum:        99999
Warning:        7
Inactive:       -1
Last Change:            Jan 22, 2005
Password Expires:       Never
Password Inactive:      Never
Account Expires:        Never

# chage -E 1/1/9999 mythtv
