[mythtv-users] Using Hauppage PVR-*00 encoder for external streams?

Hi,

I have a weird question, and I think that if I can get an answer anywhere,
this list is one of the most likely places...

Is it possible to use the hardware mpeg encoder on the hauppage PVR card
for streams/data NOT coming from the tuner? For example to recompress DV
video coming in through a 1394 (firewire) connection without stressing the
processor?

Something like:

DV Cam ---> 1394 ---> PCI-bus ---> PVR Encoder ---> PCI-bus ---> Harddisk
