You'll have a better Live TV experience with 0.18.  Read through the
mailing list archives for the quirks of Live TV under MythTV 0.19. 
Since you won't be watching Live TV, this isn't an issue for you.

Don't be afraid to move to SuSE 10.  You'll find compiling and
available RPMs are more up-to-date and less troublesome under SuSE 10.
 You'll especially find this around the software that MythTV holds
together like lirc, ivtv and the like...
