[mythtv-users] unable to play DVD

since upgrade to 0.19 and tweaking to get sound working I've lost my
DVD. I cannot play any DVD via myth. xine start, then show a popop for
few second and exit. something about missing plugin for ... can't read
it.

My setup is as follow.

0.19 latest update from atrpms
fc4
xine v0.99.4.

in myth the DVD is set as /dev/hdc
in fstab it is as:

/dev/hdd                /media/cdrom            auto
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
/dev/hdc                /media/cdrecorder       auto
pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed,user 0 0

hdd is a dvd 
hdc is dvd-rw

in /dev I also have :

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 3 mar  1 12:08 /dev/dvd -> hdc
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 3 mar  1 12:08 /dev/cdrom -> hdc
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 3 mar  1 12:08 /dev/cdwriter -> hdc
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 3 mar  1 12:08 /dev/cdrom1 -> hdd
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 3 mar  1 12:08 /dev/dvd1 -> hdd
brwxrwxrwx  1 mythtv disk 22, 0 mar  1 12:07 /dev/hdc
brw-------  1 mythtv disk 22, 64 mar  1 12:07 /dev/hdd

I've chmod 777 /dev/hdc to see if it can help.


the setup for the dvd reader in myth is :
xine -pFhq -V fb0 --no-splash %s
(via pvr350 out)

I've try replacing %s with %d or DVD or dvd://

always the same.

on the console I get the following message when trying via myth:

if I try directly via xine in an xterm it work ok

what else can i try
