i wrote a plugin which did this as well and i used it for the good
part of a year but when i moved i quit using it since we have multiple
people here with gaim and the broadcasting to all the mythfrontends
was kinda annoying.

i do have a friend that uses it very successfully and as far as i know
it has never crashed.  actually, my friend agreed to let me convert
her desktop to linux just so that she could use this plugin.

i initially wrote it in perl but switched to tcl when they
discontinued the perl interface to gaim.

i'll look for it and post the plugin to the list if there's any interest.
