Hey guys,

I'm having problems starting mythtv and live tv, i'm not sure if this is
an IVTV problem or a MythTV problem, whether it be a setup problem or a
bug I'm not sure.

I have a 2.6.17-rc6 kernel and a WinTV-PVR 150 card, here is its lspci
output:
03:05.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16
(CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc. WinTV PVR 150
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 20
        Memory at e8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

I am using the latest subversion entry of IVTV as of yesterday, and
MythTV-0.19_p10281 from Gentoo's portage.

On my computer, I can successfully capture and playback video and audio via:
cat /dev/v4l/video0 > test.mpg

However when I try to start mythtv and watch livetv, i see this:
2006-06-28 03:15:43.017 RingBuf(/mnt/store/1027_20060628031541.mpg):
Invalid file (fd 15) when opening '/mnt/store/1027_20060628031541.mpg'.
12 retries remaining.

It retries the 12 times and then quits. I check my backend log and i
see this:
Error getting codec params
IVTV_IOC_G_CODEC:: Invalid argument

Note that I am *not* using NFS, the backend and frontend are on the same
machine. Also note that while i can successfully record/playback with
cat /dev/v4l/video0 > test.mpg ... the file IS successfully created in
/mnt/store, and when it quits the file is left there, and i *cannot*
play this file back.

I'd greatly appreciate any help / suggestions.

Thanks!
George
