Where I live (Boston area) Comcast is transmitting almost all broadcast
HD channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WB, PBS) unencrypted two per multiplex:
WLVIDT:573000000:QAM_256:2048:2049:2
WGBHDT:573000000:QAM_256:2112:2113:1
WCVBDT:585000000:QAM_256:2112:2113:1
WHDHDT:585000000:QAM_256:2176:2177:2
WFXTDT:591000000:QAM_256:2048:2049:1
WBZDT:591000000:QAM_256:2112:2113:2
and UPN-HD is bundled with the other 3 PBS (SD) channels:
WSBKDT:579000000:QAM_256:2112:2113:5
WGBXDT2:579000000:QAM_256:2240:2241:1
WGBXDT4:579000000:QAM_256:2304:2305:3
WGBXDT3:579000000:QAM_256:2368:2369:2
And all major SD channels are on a single multiplex:
WBZ:537000000:QAM_256:2048:2049:2
WCVB:537000000:QAM_256:2112:2113:3
WHDH:537000000:QAM_256:2176:2177:4
CN8NE:537000000:QAM_256:2240:2241:6
WFXT:537000000:QAM_256:2304:2305:7
WSBK:537000000:QAM_256:2432:2433:9
WGBH:537000000:QAM_256:2496:2497:10
WLVI:537000000:QAM_256:2624:2625:12
WGBX:537000000:QAM_256:2688:2689:1
So 5 multiplexes cover pretty much anything useful that you can get from
unencrypted QAM.
