[mythtv-users] Myth is automatically cancelling recordings?

Who ever said channel /number/?  Your channels are what's likely changed...

Because you just scheduled a recording for a show on a channel you 
actually have (assuming the channel problem) or that otherwise matches 
the program listings you have.
