[mythtv-users] How long should a mythdvd perfect rip take?

I can rip a DVD using the ISO method in about 25 minutes on my system. 
I'm running FC5 on an Athlon 64 3200+ with 2gb of memory.  Single SATA
300GB drive.  Doesn't the ripper also write to the DB to store the
information?  Could it be possible the DB is your bottleneck?
