Ah, alas I am not that adventurous ;-)  ~x86 is about all I feel like handling on this box, at least for now.  I suppose I'll wait until the next upgrade hits portage and try again.  I'm probably going to hack an option in mythburn to just copy the files to a name that makes sense on a local temp directory (rather than the cryptic name mythtv assigns) and then burn the DVD's manually.
