[mythtv-users] MythTv freezing system

I guess I am confused. I just started MythTv, and I am trying to get
LiveTv. I have not specified any file to 'play'. I reviewed the log, and
the following lines jumped out at me

2006-06-07 23:58:51.003
RingBuf(/var/lib/mythtv//1009_20060607235850.nuv):
OpenFile(/var/lib/mythtv//1009_20060607235850.nuv, 12)
2006-06-07 23:58:51.004
RingBuf(/var/lib/mythtv//1009_20060607235850.nuv): Invalid file (fd
15) when opening '/var/lib/mythtv//1009_20060607235850.nuv'. 12
retries remaining.

But I have not the foggiest idea what to do abut it....

At the top of the log are the lines
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166
  Major opcode: 144
  Minor opcode: 3
  Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166
  Major opcode: 144
  Minor opcode: 3
  Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device

Which look awefully suspicious as a problem, but I am not sure what to
check...
Like I said, I can get video in the XawTv program, so I think I got
the tuner card set
up alright (bttv driver).
