Sorry about the MS Outlook crap. I told it to use plain text this time.
I recompiled the kernel with the relevant modules and the symbol errors went
away, however I'm still having problems. Here are the log messages from
when I try to load the ivtv module:
ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.6.2 (tagged release) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.16.19 PENTIUM4 gcc-4.0
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.

ivtv0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
ivtv0 warning: failed loading encoder firmware
ivtv0 warning: Error loading firmware -3!
ivtv: probe of 0000:05:04.0 failed with error -12
ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ====================
It says it can't open the firmware, however I did put the files in the
hotplug directory. Here's the contents of /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/
v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw
v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
v4l-cx2341x-init-mpeg.bin
v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg
v4l-cx25840.fw
I downloaded these off the ivtvdriver.org website
(http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/firmware/firmware.tar.gz). Is there
something for hotplug that's missing from the kernel?
Thanks,
David
