Hello,
I'm a bit of a newcomer to the world of video capturing, and I seem to
be having a problem getting my Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP (Expert)
working.
I installed the cx88 drivers (version 0.0.4) and things seemed to be
going well. I modprobed using `modprobe cx8800`. My dmesg showed the
following:
cx2388x v4l2 driver version 0.0.4 loaded
cx8800[0]: found at 00:0a.0, rev: 5, irq: 11, latency: 64, mmio: 0xf7000000
cx8800[0]: subsystem: 107d:6613, board: Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Expert
[card=5,autodetected]
tuner: chip found @ 0xc0
cx8800[0]: i2c attach [client=(tuner unset)]
i2c-core.o: client [(tuner unset)] registered to adapter [cx8800[0]](pos. 0).

cx8800[0]: i2c attach [client=tda9887]
i2c-core.o: client [tda9887] registered to adapter [cx8800[0]](pos. 1).
i2c-core.o: adapter cx8800[0] registered as adapter 0.
cx8800[0]: i2c register ok
cx8800[0]: Leadtek Winfast 2000 XP config: tuner=43, eeprom[0]=0x01
cx8800[0]: registered device video0 [v4l2]
cx8800[0]: registered device vbi0
cx8800[0]: registered device radio0
cx8800[0]: set_audio_standard_BTSC (status: known-good)
cx8800[0]: cx88: tvaudio thread started
At first, I thought everything was swell. However, when I went to scan
channels with mythtv-setup, I saw a bunch of less-than-friendly errors
in my dmesg. They looked like the following. . .
cx8800[0]: AUD_STATUS: 0xf672 [mono/no pilot] ctl=BTSC_AUTO_STEREO
tuner: tuner type not set
cx8800[0]: AUD_STATUS: 0xf632 [mono/no pilot] ctl=BTSC_AUTO_STEREO
tuner: tuner type not set
cx8800[0]: AUD_STATUS: 0xf5f2 [mono/no pilot] ctl=BTSC_AUTO_STEREO
tuner: tuner type not set
Naturally, the channel scan didn't quite work as I'd expected. I was a
bit perplexed though, because when I modprobed for the driver, it
seemed to find the right tuner (43). However, it looks as though the
tuner module didn't get the information. Am I reading that correctly?
For reference, my kernel is a mostly default slackware 10.x kernel (2.4.31).
Here's the relevant section of `lspci -v`:
00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI
Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
Subsystem: LeadTek Research Inc. Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Expert
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11
Memory at f7000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2
Anything that could get me "on my way" so to speak would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks
