[mythtv-users] is mythtv smart enough to do this(overlap/back-to-back) with recordings?

I already have 120 seconds of soft padding set, but I'm specifically 
talking about back-to-back programs on the same channel so soft padding 
doesn't apply.  I haven't done a scientific test, but the recycle time 
on my tuners seems to be about 10 seconds from the last instant of the 
previous program recorded to the first instant of the next program 
recorded.  I know it was enough to completely lose the denouement of two 
hour mystery movie the first time it happened:  That was quite 
sufficient for me to want it to never happen again.  If I was inclined 
to try to second guess, I would probably set TCM to end and start one 
minute late, and SciFi to end and start one minute early.  But I don't, 
instead I set 2 minutes of hard padding on each end (4 minutes total 
overlap) and accept that some of the programs are going to be poorer 
quality visually than others.
