If you mean window managers, the answer is "none" as long as you
won't be using any external players or running any other programs
on the box. If you are using external players then running without
a window manager will likely cause you some grief with keyboard
focus problems (i.e. the mplayer output is on top but the
keystrokes are still going to myth).
Given that ratpoison is so light-weight you're probably well off to
use it.
